EMBC 2023 is the 45th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. The conference was held in Sydney, Australia from 24th to 27th July 2023. The biomedical engineering community of Australia and New Zealand has a long history of outstanding scientific and technological contributions and is supported by a vibrant medtech industry. In reflection of how the global pandemic highlighted fragilities in global healthcare systems and responses worldwide, the theme of the conference was “Engineering Better and More Resilient Healthcare for All.”

Τhe ProCAncer -I participated in a Mini-Symposium jointly with the FutureAI Initiative and the EUCAIM. The theme of the symposium was: The European Cancer Imaging Initiative – Status, Challenges and Opportunities

This mini-symposium provided details on the achievements of the AI4HI projects in creating large interoperable cancer imaging repositories, and the experiences in developing novel AI-based models. The symposium provided hands-on experience on the use of the FUTURE-AI guidelines and report on challenges addressed by the EUROPEAN FEDERATION FOR CANCER IMAGES project.
